The main goal of this finished basement transformation was to create a space suitable for all family members to enjoy on a daily basis. The homeowners wanted additional storage for their wine collection, entertainment spaces and a more refined media room.
Setting the Mood
To create a winery look upon entry to the basement, a new wine bar was added. A secret door was installed at the staircase to showcase treasured bottles and create additional storage under the stairs. The media room received a new look with a stone veneer wrapped fireplace and new built-ins.
Material Selection
To accomplish a winery look, black distressed maple cabinets were selected for the wine bar and built-ins. The oil rubbed bronze mini pendants and handmade cork backsplash help create a refined appearance.
