This project was a two level four season room addition. Being a newer home, the backyard had no shade causing the homeowners to never use their back patio. The concept was to create a climate controlled space off the back of their home to enjoy the year-round seasons without the nuisance of wind, bugs or intense sun.
Connectivity
Because the homeowners spend most of their time in the kitchen and basement, a transition room was added off the kitchen with a brand new staircase leading down to the basement to provide quicker access to the new four season room addition.
Material Selection
Several elements were included in the design of the four season room addition to perfectly blend with the interior and exterior of the house. New bricks were installed around the perimeter of the addition then tinted to match the home’s existing brick color. Interior architectural details, including the rounded wall corners, white painted trim and antique bronze stairwell balusters, make the four season room addition appear as if it was originally built with the house.
