This home was built in 2004 in Carmel’s Valleybrook neighborhood. The owners fell in love with the location and the layout of the home but knew they had some changes to make. With a few cosmetic updates, the home would soon suit their more modern style. The homeowners wanted to update several areas, so the projects were planned in phases. Once the interior was complete — including master bath, kitchen, two bathrooms and basement — the homeowners moved in and the exterior phase began.
Storage, Space, and Style
Removal of the bulkheads immediately updated the feeling of the space. Appliances were relocated to allow for larger windows and more light. The granite kitchen island was extended to provide additional seating, storage and prep space. Decorative spindles make the island stand out, giving the impression of a table or piece of furniture.
Stunning Features
Today’s homeowners will often install cabinets in two distinct finishes, adding visual interest to a feature that would otherwise be background noise. The granite kitchen island, a custom range hood, cabinets with wave pattern glass inserts and a textured-style backsplash complete the stunning modern update.
