Geist Reservoir Exterior Home Remodel & Outdoor Kitchen

Built in 1988, this Geist Reservoir waterfront home required a comprehensive exterior transformation. Worthington Design and Remodeling modernized the brick façade and engineered a multi-level outdoor living space. The design includes an Ipe hardwood deck, a Smart Pergola, and an advanced outdoor kitchen.

The Challenge & The Vision

The homeowners faced an aging exterior that failed to maximize their stunning waterfront backyard. The primary challenge involved bridging the gap between outdated brickwork and the desire for a modern entertaining hub. The cohesive architectural design vision focused on creating a seamless transition from indoor living to an all-season outdoor oasis, ensuring durability against the elements while elevating the property’s premium aesthetic.

Structural Façade Updates

The project pairs foundational repairs with modern design elements. The team repaired, waterproofed, and painted the original brickwork to unify the home’s exterior profile. By integrating modern metal railings with clean lines, this project sets a new standard for custom home additions in the area.

The Waterfront Cabana and Kitchen

The newly constructed cabana features a Smart Pergola equipped with adjustable roof louvres. This innovative system easily directs the breeze or deflects rain for all-season enjoyment. The outdoor kitchen takes full advantage of the stunning reservoir view, providing an exclusive cooking experience right by the water.

Multi-Level Deck Engineering

The lower covered deck utilizes Ipe Brazilian hardwood. This material naturally repels insects and resists decay over time.

The covered deck was made from Ipe, a Brazilian hardwood that naturally repels insects and resists decay. Retractable screens hidden in the columns provide protection from the elements at the press of a button.
