Last week, a portion of the Case Indy design team journeyed out to Las Vegas to learn more about the latest industry trends, technologies and leading products in home remodeling at the 2015 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders’ Show (IBS). Here’s what we learned……
Geometric Shaped Tile:
Geometric shaped tile was a major trend shown in both kitchens and bathrooms. These bold looks can either be used on their own or used as accent tile. Here’s what we found:
Technology Innovations:
Technology continued to make its mark on the home remodeling industry. We saw everything from wireless charging surfaces, under-cabinet modular tracks, to new advancements in universal design in the kitchen!
This product is inserted in a wall cabinet. With the push of a button, it can be lowered all the way down to the countertop or raised all the way up in the cabinet and can be stopped at every height in between.
Rustic Design:
Rustic style, meaning use of reclaimed woods, Edison bulbs, rugged textures and earthy & warm colors, are on the rise in home remodeling. Take a closer look at some of the leading rustic designs below.
Contemporary Design:
Contemporary design seemed to be especially big in bathroom remodeling! It was all about clean lines and floating fixtures. Here is a closer look at some of the interesting floating vanities, wall-mounted toilets, free-standing tubs and modern shower designs featured at KBIS:
Indoor/Outdoor Living:
Opening up the home from the indoors to the outdoors was also a big trend seen at KBIS. LaCantina Doors featured an innovative option of converting a window into an open bar – very cool!
Storage Solutions:
Cabinet makers continue to fine-tune storage options and modifications to make it easier for homeowners to live and be better organized in their homes.
This modern take on the “Hoosier Cabinet” is every baker’s dream. Shelving, spice racks and peg boards make it easy to organize mixing bowls, spices, oils, baking utensils and beyond!
This pull out table is the perfect solution for small spaces that can’t fit an island or a dining table.
Here is more proof that universal design can be both functional & stylish! This pantry unit features pull out drawers and shelves that are all accessible to individuals in wheelchairs.
