In most cases, homeowners are opting to remove their large garden tub and replace them with a large and sophisticated shower. In this case, the original configuration of the jacuzzi tub sat at a 45 degree angle and took up unnecessary space. Through creative space planning, the homeowners were able to keep their tub simply by moving it flush against the wall. This allowed the shower to nearly double in size – giving it the function that the homeowners were looking for.
Design Elements: To add functionality to the shower, a corner seat, two niches and a grab bar were installed. A careful blend of color and texture were executed in the details of the various tiles giving it a spa-oasis look and feel.
New therapeutic Kohler fixtures including a showerhead, hand shower and four body sprays made this shower a retreat that the homeowners never want to leave. In fact, the homeowner stated, “I think our water bill has doubled since we remodeled because of how much we love taking showers now. It’s just so luxurious”.
Storage Solutions: The new double sink vanity offers great storage solutions that keep the countertops clutter-free. In addition, the tower cabinet not only creates a divider between the two sinks, but it also provides additional storage for hand towels, accessories, etc.
Final Details: It’s not every day you see a TV in the bathroom – but how much sense does it make for busy homeowners who never get a chance to watch their favorite morning newscast or DVR’ed programs?. “It’s so nice being able to watch the news while getting ready in the morning. The TV was installed on a swivel mount making it possible to see it while either in the shower, tub or standing by the vanity. We love it.”
