This custom home in the West Carmel neighborhood of Coppergate featured a spacious master bathroom with outdated fixtures and finishes. The homeowner wanted to gut and completely remodel remodel the space, adding a large steam shower and a new walk-in master closet.
Design Phase:
During the first phase of the design, our designer laid out the new floor plan of the reconfigured master bathroom and closet with our 3-D modeling software. The next step involved working with the owner to design their desired shower details. The final design phase step included the selection of the plumbing fixtures, tile, cabinetry and lighting fixtures.
Project Schedule:
The initial design phase for the master bathroom remodel included several meetings in the Case design center with the project designer, as well as visits to local plumbing fixture showrooms. The design phase lasted 4 weeks while the construction phase was spread out over approximately 8 weeks.
Final Product:
The new steam shower included three Kohler WaterTile 22-nozzle body sprays, one Kohler WaterTile overhead showering rainfall panel, and two separate shower heads. The steam generating unit was installed behind the bench seat and included a programmable digital thermostat. The shower also included an insulated ceiling and walls, and a frameless glass steam shower door. The bathroom floor was tiled in a natural stone with a new under floor heating system, including a programmable thermostat. A new free-standing soaking tub was also installed. The existing vanity cabinetry was replaced with two new vanity sink base cabinets and one 24” wide drawer stack, with quartz countertops and new Kohler satin nickel vanity faucets. Finally the vanity area was updated with a full-length mirror, mounted with satin nickel light fixtures.
