A Classic Palette

This Carmel kitchen remodel centers on a versatile classic palette of white, taupe, and gray. The soft, neutral tones create a calm backdrop that adapts easily over time while organic elements—wood barstools, seagrass dining chairs, and iron accents—add warmth and texture.

Form & Function

Functionality improved significantly by relocating the range off the island, opening up prep and entertaining space. An expanded range and custom hood now serve as the focal point. Removing an impractical desk allowed for additional cabinetry, cleaner sight lines, and more counter and storage space. Cabinets that extend to the ceiling also enhance the room’s perceived height.

Design Details

Refined finishes complete the transformation: a double-basin apron-front sink, crown molding, glass pendants, and brushed nickel hardware. Together these elements deliver both charm and practicality in a kitchen that feels polished yet approachable.

What made this Carmel kitchen remodel feel more functional? Relocating the range off the island created better prep and entertaining space, while removing the desk allowed for additional cabinetry and cleaner sight lines. Cabinets that run to the ceiling also improved storage and visual height.

How did the classic palette contribute to the final look? The combination of white, taupe, and gray created a soft, timeless foundation. Wood, seagrass, and iron accents were then added to introduce warmth and texture without overwhelming the clean lines of the cabinetry and surfaces.

What details helped achieve the effortless elegance feel? The double-basin apron-front sink, crown molding, glass pendants, and brushed nickel hardware work together to give the kitchen a refined but approachable finish that feels polished without being overly formal.
