Basement Remodel: This basement was stuck in the 90’s and the homeowners were ready for a more custom basement they could use for entertaining family and friends.
Location: Carmel, IN
Style: Modern
Square Feet: 835
BASEMENT BEFORE:
- Reason to Remodel: Even though the basement was large and open, the space appeared sectioned off, causing awkward and underutilized areas throughout. The homeowners were ready for a space to enjoy that fit their style.
BASEMENT AFTER:
DESIGN APPROACH:
- The goal was to achieve an engaging room to enjoy with family and friends that fit the homeowners’ style.
- The updated space consists of new, dark cabinetry with open shelving and glass cabinet doors. These are perfect for displaying bottles and glasses. The existing structural beam was encased with rich, dark wood that matched the cabinetry and adds an architectural feature to the space. Two TV’s were installed on the back wall, creating the perfect spot for game day!
- The bar area was reconfigured to accommodate a new built-in tap system, allowing the homeowners to keep their favorite beer on tap.
- The built-in entertainment stand was replaced with a small stage creating the perfect spot for the homeowners’ young daughters to sing and dance.
- The adjacent bathroom and bedroom also received updates that coordinated with the rest of the basement, completing the space.
